BELLS

On the bell tower there are n. 5 bells, cast by the foundry Angelo Bianchi and Varese Children in 1928, the following characteristics:

I ° Bell diameter cm 126, 1140 kg weight

II Campana 113 cm diameter, weight 800 kg

Campana III 101 cm diameter, weight 575 kg

IV Bell diameter cm 95, 485 kg weight

V ° Bell diameter cm 85, 340 kg weight

 

RESTORATION OF INTERVENTION

The restoration work took shape with the lowering, using a special crane, the five bells installed in the bell tower and the entire support structure of the same (also called castellatura). Everything was dismantled and brought in our factory in Cologne (BS) for audit and restoration operations.

The project involved a restoration of the wall parts of the adjacent bell tower with the old support structure. The stresses, to which adjacent masonry parts to the supporting castellatura, have been exposed over the years due to incorrect formation of the same, have different damage caused to the masonry.

The old castellatura of support of the bells was completely discarded and replaced with new, full of antivibration sockets for the elimination of vibrations produced by moving parts, preventing the transmission of vibrations to the support bases and to surrounding environments.

The bells, in our workshop, were subjected to a thorough review that included:

  • The complete renovation of the wooden insulators and their supporting hardware;
  • The complete replacement of clappers (or clappers);
  • The complete overhaul of the strains and their subsequent painting with color chosen by the Purchaser;
  • The complete replacement of the wheels and relative chains for the transmission of motion between the motor and bell.

As regards the electrical part of automation of bells it had to proceed with the complete replacement of all the motors and telebattenti, resulting not in accordance with the Law for construction and materials used.

The handling system installed did not appear pursuant to the materials and construction. For this reason it was decided to replace the same with innovative products RCTouchBell, handling plant for more advanced bells in the world, able to reduce consumption and improve performance by ensuring protection from electrical phenomena and power surges. Product we produce.
